Vailankanni Ward Feast Celebration. 

The Vailankanni Ward of St. Antony Church, Allipade, celebrated its annual feast with great fervour on Sunday, 17 May 2026. 

Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, the Parish Priest, celebrated the solemn Thanksgiving Eucharist, which was attended by all the ward members.

 The highlight of the celebration was the colourful procession, where the entire parish community came together to express their devotion to Our Lady of Vailankanni. During the procession, the statue of Our Lady of Vailankanni was carried by the ward members along with the parishioners. This was followed by a special prayer, and the morning celebration concluded with refreshments served to all.

In the evening, the ward members gathered at the residence of Mr Charls D’Souza to continue the festivities. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Parish Priest, sisters from Cluny Convent, and members of the Parish Council. 

The evening was filled with cultural programmes, fun-filled spot games, and a variety of dances and musical performances by the ward children. 

The celebration concluded with a festive meal, bringing the day’s joyous festivities to a heartwarming close.

Along with the ward members, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, Sr. Jean Marie, Sr. Sucarena, Mr. Ronald Pais, Mr. Vinod Sequeira, Mr. John Walder, Mr Praveen Fernandes, Gurkars of various wards, and specially invited neighbours from other faiths were present for the programme. 

Ward Gurkar Mr. Praveen Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Shanthi Valder presented the annual report of the ward activities. Mr. Joyel Fernandes and Mr. Jeethan Fernandes conducted the spot games. Mr. Alwin Fernandes delivered the vote of thanks, and Mr. Benedict Walder compered the programme.
