Feast of St. Antony Solemnly Celebrated at St. Antony Church, Allipade
The Titular feast of the patron Saint, St. Antony, was solemnly celebrated at St. Antony Church, Allipade, on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at 10:30 a.m., amidst great devotion, faith, and spiritual fervour.
The celebration began with the reading of the names of the Murdhom and donors as a mark of gratitude for their generous contributions towards the successful organization of the feast.
The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Walter D’Souza, Parish Priest of St. Sebastian Church, Bendur. He was joined by 17 priests from neighbouring parishes and invited clergy who concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.
In his profound and inspiring homily, Fr. Walter D’Souza reflected on the faith journey and exemplary life of St. Antony. He reminded the faithful that acts of charity and generosity should be performed with sincere intentions rather than for recognition or publicity. True generosity, he emphasized, comes from the heart, and God values even the hidden sacrifices and good deeds done with genuine love and humility.
The liturgy was prayerfully and meaningfully organized by the parishioners, adding to the solemnity and spiritual richness of the celebration.
Following the Holy Eucharist, a grand procession in honour of St. Antony was held around the church premises. The faithful participated with great devotion, singing hymns and offering prayers through the intercession of their beloved patron saint.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, Parish Priest of Allipade, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the priests, donors, sponsors, volunteers, parish organizations, and devotees whose generous support and dedicated service contributed to the grand success of the feast.
As part of the festivities, a sumptuous fellowship meal was served to all devotees. Rev. Fr. Victor D’Souza, Vicar Forane of Bantwal Deanery, graced the festive gathering. The parish community and devotees of St. Antony joyfully shared the meal together, fostering a spirit of unity, gratitude, and Christian fellowship.
The feast celebration concluded on a joyful and memorable note, leaving the faithful spiritually enriched and inspired through the intercession, virtues, and example of St. Antony, the patron saint of the parish.
