Grand Monti Fest Celebration at St. Antony’s Church, Allipade
Allipade: The annual Monti Fest (Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) was celebrated with great devotion and joy at St. Antony’s Church, Allipade, on Tuesday.
The celebration began with the blessing of the new crop, symbolizing gratitude to God for His abundant blessings and the gifts of nature. This was followed by a grand procession of Mother Mary through Allipade town. Children and parishioners participated enthusiastically in the procession, offering flowers and singing praises in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The celebration continued with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza. The faithful participated prayerfully in the Holy Mass, seeking the blessings and protection of Mother Mary.
Following the religious ceremonies, sugarcane were distributed among the faithful as part of the traditional Monti Fest celebration.
Members of the Parish Pastoral Council, the Gurikars of the seven wards, Christian leaders, and a large number of parishioners were present and actively participated in the celebration. The Bantwal Rural Police provided security arrangements.
The celebration was a beautiful expression of faith, gratitude, unity, and devotion, bringing the parish community together to honour Mother Mary and celebrate God’s blessings.
