Inauguration of Sunday Catechism year 2026-27
St Antony Church, Allipade
The new academic year of Sunday Catechism was solemnly inaugurated at St Antony Church, Allipade, on Sunday, 7th June 2026.
The celebration commenced with the Thanksgiving Eucharist at 7:30 a.m. The liturgy was meaningfully prepared and conducted by the Catechism teachers, with active participation from the students and parents.
During the inauguration ceremony, four pairs of parents along with their children represented the entire parish community's families. The Catechism teachers, parents, children, and the Parish Priest joined in the Eucharistic procession. Prior to the Holy Mass, the catechism year was formally inaugurated. Teachers, parents, and children took an oath to faithfully carry out their responsibilities and to grow in faith and values. The oath was administered and read by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza, encouraging all present to faithfully carry out their responsibilities in nurturing and living the Christian faith.
The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Director of Mangala Jyothi, Mangalore together with the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza.
In his homily, Fr. Rohith D’Costa delivered an inspiring reflection on the importance of catechism in nurturing Christian values, deepening faith, and helping children grow as committed disciples of Christ.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the inauguration ceremony highlighted the vital role of faith formation for both students and teachers. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the catechism teachers for generously dedicating their time and talents to this important ministry. He encouraged them to continue their mission with zeal and commitment and wished them God's abundant blessings.
The inauguration marked the beginning of a new catechetical year filled with hope, learning, and spiritual growth for all the children of the parish.
