Elders Day Celebration 

The SSVP Allipade unit joyfully organized Elders’ Day on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at St. Antony Church, Allipade, to honor and appreciate the senior members of the parish. 

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza. The liturgy was meaningfully conducted by the SSVP members.

Following the Mass, a short and heartfelt felicitation programme was held in honor of the elders. 

The dignitaries present on the dais included Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, Sr. Narcisa Sequeira, Sr. Violet Mendonsa, SSVP President Mr. Praveen Pinto, Parish Council Vice-President Mr. Ronald Pais, Secretary Mr. Vinod Sequeira, Coordinator of Parish Commissions Mr. John Walder, SSVP Bantwal Area Council President Mr. Felix D’Silva, and Secretary Mr. Vincent Praveen Crasta. 

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome by Mr. Praveen Pinto. The event was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

Sr. Violet Mendonsa addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance and dignity of the elderly in society 

In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza reflected on the sacrifices and responsibilities borne by the elders in keeping families united. He emphasized that they are the living memory of history and a source of wisdom gained through life experiences.

To add joy to the celebration, Mrs. Sweety Rodrigues and the SSVP members conducted lively spot games and action songs, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone present.

The programme was gracefully compered by Mirs. Sweety Rodrigues and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Benedict Walder, Secretary of SSVP. Gifts were distributed to all the elders by the SSVP members as a token of love and appreciation, wishing them good health and happiness.
